Canon XA55

For the first time, an XA Series model features a 1.0-inch type CMOS sensor and the highly reliable Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology. The XA55 features a Canon 4K lens with 15x optical zoom and 25.5mm wide-angle. Combined with Super UD (Ultra-Low Dispersion) lenses, these lenses offer a wide focal length range from 25.5mm to 382.5mm for high-quality images with attractive background blur. The integrated DIGIC DV6 image processor with advanced HD oversampling ensures brilliant Full HD image quality. Powerful 5-axis image stabilisation eliminates camera shake even when shooting freehand movies.

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF contributes to the fast and precise autofocus with 80% vertical and 80% horizontal coverage of the sensor surface. Face Detection AF, Priority Face AF, Face-only AF and Touch & Track AF provide seamless focusing with intuitive operation, while a Dual Pixel Focus Assistant provides a graphical user interface to support manual focusing. This innovative focus assistant uses Dual Pixel CMOS AF phase difference technology to achieve high-precision focusing.

With support for XF-AVC and MP4 shooting up to 4K UHD 25p, the XA55 can also record in different formats to SD cards. In addition, slow motion/quick motion recording at a maximum speed of 1200x in 4K and Full HD is possible, as well as simultaneous or continuous recording thanks to the two SD memory card slots. XA55 / XA50 convince with their low power consumption - the battery allows more than two hours of continuous operation.

Professional audio quality is possible with linear PCM 4-channel audio recording and two XLR connectors, while 3G SDI connectors (XA55 only) deliver Full HD output with 4:2:2 10-bit signal.
