Blackmagic HyperDeck Extreme 4K HDR

Powerful HyperDeck with Ultra HD touchscreen for recording and playback of H.265 and ProRes files in all SD, HD and Ultra HD standards up to 2160p/60. With scopes, upgradeable cache as well as SDI, HDMI and analogue video.

The HyperDeck Extreme has an innovative, large touchscreen for image viewing in addition to important buttons for operation. If you combine the recorder with a HyperDeck Extreme Control, you also have classic VTR control buttons and a seek controller. The HyperDeck and control unit are even rack-mountable. Other HyperDeck Extreme features include two media bays, 12G-SDI connections for 4K, analogue connections for archiving purposes, USB-C for recording to external drives, and a speaker and headphone jack on the front panel. An optional cache prevents frame dropping when storage media is full or too slow. Two power connections for AC and DC allow use in the studio or on location.

Perfect for live productions, digital signage and archiving

The versatile HyperDeck Extreme is ideal for live productions as well as a master recorder, clip player and for recording feeds from individual cameras. Analogue inputs allow you to record from old videotapes to prepare previous broadcasts for the latest streaming services or picture editing. Fast media uploads via 10G Ethernet and a simple remote control protocol make digital signage on the HyperDeck Extreme a breeze. Thanks to HDMI, SDI and analogue inputs with integrated scopes and 3D LUTs, it can even be used as a field recorder. Scopes are used for quality assurance during mastering to ensure that broadcast and streaming meet broadcast specifications.

Converting older programmes for streaming

With the growth of streaming services, localised content is becoming increasingly important to preserve cultural diversity. Affordable streaming services make archived programmes from all countries accessible. With a HyperDeck Extreme control, you can connect older VTRs, mark sections and make edits. With a HyperDeck Extreme and a HyperDeck Extreme Control, a single operator can continuously archive from legacy equipment. For cutting in different formats, a Teranex Express standard converter converts tapes from SD to HD in one step. The control unit controls many types of VTRs such as Digital Betacam, 1-inch C-format VTRs and Betacam SP.
