Breathtaking full frame quality

With its 5.9K full-frame CMOS sensor, Canon's EOS C500 Mark II gives you an immersive full-frame look, combined with Canon's natural skin tones and true colours. Thanks to the 5.9K sensor and the newly developed DIGIC DV 7 processor, the EOS C500 Mark II is the ideal choice for professionals who want to produce content in the best 4K quality. A high-quality debayering algorithm is used to play 5.9K content in 4K. This suppresses moiré and reduces noise, resulting in exceptional picture quality. With a dynamic range of more than 15 f-stops and a wide colour gamut, the EOS C500 Mark II is ideal for high dynamic range productions. In addition, the camera is equipped with a robust, internal electronically controlled full-frame 2, 4, 6 ND filter with extended 81 and 102 exposure levels, respectively. Even in bright daylight, this makes it possible to take pictures with attractive background blur.

Efficient recording and workflow

The EOS C500 Mark II's ability to record in multiple file formats enables a highly efficient workflow that meets post-production requirements. With Canon's new DIGIC DV 7 image processor, the camera offers internal recording in Cinema RAW Light format with full 5.9K resolution. The Cinema RAW Light format offers all the advantages of a RAW file in terms of post-production flexibility and allows the EOS C500 Mark II to record high-quality files with small file sizes.

In addition to the ability to record internally to CFexpress cards in Canon's XF-AVC 4K 4:2:2 in 10-bit format, the EOS C500 Mark II also offers simultaneous recording and additional proxy recording. This gives professionals the flexibility to choose the recording format that best suits their workflow and project. The camera features an advanced 12G SDI interface that offers four times the transfer speed of 3G SDI. This 12G SDI interface enables the output of 4K 50/60p with a single cable - simplifying the 4K workflow. In addition, HDMI output in 4K 50/60p is possible via a single cable.

Quiet picture steadiness thanks to electronic IS and groundbreaking autofocus technology

The EOS C500 Mark II is the first Cinema EOS camera with an integrated Electronic Image Stabilizer (Electronic IS) that offers 5-axis compensation for camera shake. When a lens is connected that supports data transfer, the lens metadata (MXF) is automatically evaluated. Even when using lenses without electronic communication to the camera, the Electronic IS can be used by manually entering the focal length. The Electronic IS is also compatible with anamorphic lenses.

Additional features for ultimate creative freedom

The EOS C500 Mark II supports user LUTs so camera operators can use or customize their own LUTs. For precise monitoring, they can be loaded into the camera and different LUTs applied to each terminal. The additional LUT button gives professionals greater production flexibility. The EOS C500 Mark II also features the Cinema RAW Light Codec for a high frame rate of up to 50/60 fps in 5.9K resolution.
