Blackmagic MultiDock 10G

The Blackmagic MultiDock 10G is an advanced docking station that lets you access four separate SSDs via a super-fast USB C port for 10 Gbps. Unlike cheap consumer adapters, the Blackmagic MultiDock 10G is designed specifically for the movie and TV industry. It comes with an ideal design for installation in device racks and has an independent SATA driver chip on each hard drive bay for significantly faster data transfer rates. It's made for image editors, colorists and media management on the set! With this MultiDock you can even extend the compatibility of HyperDeck Extreme recorders with SSDs. The Blackmagic MultiDock 10G alone gives you the industrial design you need for professional use.

Full Metal Premium Class Rackmount Design

No comparison to cheap connection cables for SSDs! The Blackmagic MultiDock 10G comes in an all-metal 1U compact design that fits into any professional equipment rack. Each bay has an illuminated disc display that tells you when your hard drives are working. The device is designed in such a way that the user can repair it himself and replace the connectors in all bays. Simply connect the MultiDock to the USB-C port of a Mac or Windows computer. No software needs to be loaded. Two USB-C ports and a slide switch are located on the back of the case. You can choose to operate with four hard drive bays via a single USB-C port or with two bays each sharing the USB-C ports. The integrated AC power supply provides plenty of power to power all four SSDs or hard drives simultaneously.

Dock and edit

The Blackmagic MultiDock 10G supports four independent 2.5-inch SSDs. This allows you to cut directly from the same drive you recorded to. Simply insert the SSDs and your computer will recognize them under Mac OS X or Windows like regular hard disks. The four separate slots of the Blackmagic MultiDock allow you to read out all media from your shoot simultaneously. The Blackmagic MultiDock 10G is the perfect docking station for accessing media recorded by your URSA Mini Pro SSD Recorder. It's also an ideal solution to make your HyperDeck Extreme 8K compatible with SSDs, making hard drives interchangeable between all HyperDeck Studio models. For an extremely fast RAID array, you can even run multiple drives together.

Enormous USB C 10 Gbps speed

The Blackmagic MultiDock uses advanced USB-C technology that gives you super-fast data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps over a single cable. Such bandwidths are more than enough to handle video formats in the highest resolutions - including 8K footage in H.265 from HyperDeck Extreme 8K. In addition, each bay is equipped with a completely independent hard disk interface chip. So there are never delays due to problems with SATA bandwidth. Although the Blackmagic MultiDock 10G connects all four SSDs via a single USB-C port, it can also be set up to connect two hard drives via a USB-C port and two via the other USB-C port. This is ideal for use with two computers or for higher speeds.

Works with HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR

The secret of how the Blackmagic MultiDock 10G and the HyperDeckExtreme 8K work together is hidden in the high-speed USB C port called "External Disk" on the rear of the recorder housing. When you connect a MultiDock to the External Disk port of the HyperDeck recorder, it recognizes the SSDs and can record to them. If you use two HyperDeck Extreme recorders installed side by side, you can switch to dual-channel mode and use two drives with each of the HyperDeck recorders. Therefore, it is also possible to use two computers - one per channel - with a single MultiDock. Alternatively, several rackmount servers can access the same MultiDock. SSDs inserted into the MultiDock are displayed on the HyperDeck Extreme on-screen menus, where you can select the disc for recording and playback.
