The HyperDeck Shuttle HD is a live production recorder/player that looks great on any desk. It is more than just a master recorder, as it can also be used as a clip player. The large seek slider lets you quickly find the clip you want from a mass of media. You get support for ProRes, DNx and H.264 files in NTSC, PAL, 720p and 1080p video formats. Mixers, cameras and monitors can be connected via the HDMI ports. And SD and UHS-II cards as well as external USB-C storage media are suitable for recording and playing back media. The HyperDeck Shuttle HD has the same design as the ATEM Mini Extreme. The perfect combination for use as a media player. It even has an integrated teleprompter!
Elegantly designed professional broadcast MAC
The HyperDeck Shuttle HD is designed for desktop use. It can therefore be operated with one hand at the front panel. The angled design allows your hand to rest comfortably on the seeker knob and the control buttons are located directly under your fingertips. The shape is similar to that of the ATEM Mini Extreme in terms of depth and angle, making the two an unbeatable team. The natural inertia of the metal slider makes it comfortable to use and the rubberised surface provides a grippy feel. Perfect when you have a lot of media to browse through! The buttons are similar to those on traditional broadcast MACs, and you'll find all the necessary video, power, network and control connections on the back of the unit.
A complete package for mastering and clip playback on live productions
With support for H.264, ProRes and DNx files, you can now record true broadcast masters. Choose between PCM and AAC audio! This is great when using the HyperDeck Shuttle HD in conjunction with ATEM Mini mixers for higher quality masters. Everything is there to send your shows to broadcasters and upload to YouTube. The large seek slider lets you visually sift through your clip library. The rewind button takes you to the beginning of your clip. At the end of the clip, you can stop playback with the same button. With an ATEM mixer, the HyperDeck Shuttle HD can even be controlled via Ethernet.
Traditional VTR controls
The HyperDeck Shuttle HD's control panel is extremely fast. The buttons are similar to those on a traditional broadcast VTR. Simply press the record button and video input recording begins. This is done in the file format specified in the recording menu. There is also the playback button and the forward and rewind buttons. All have been designed by Blackmagic Design to meet the highest quality standards. The large metal seek controller supports shuttle, jog and scroll modes for quickly finding clips. All control functions can also be triggered remotely via Ethernet.
For SD and UHS-II cards
Since the HyperDeck Shuttle HD records onto standard SD and UHS-II cards, there is no need for expensive special media. Because they are small and inexpensive, SD cards are ideal for broadcasting. You can also record to external USB drives! A USB hub or Blackmagic MultiDock is also the right choice, as both allow non-stop recording on multiple media. H.264 files are very small and fit on inexpensive cards even for long recordings. This means: 157 hours of H.264 material in 1080p/59.94 fit on a 1 TB card, which gives you over 6 days of recording time in HD!
Record to external USB-C data media
A USB-C expansion port is provided for recording to other media such as external flash memory. Thanks to their flexible sizes, USB-C storage offers almost endless storage capacity, unlike SD cards and SSDs. It is even possible to record to a disc array for use in post-production. This saves you from having to copy all your files before editing. Just pop the disc into a computer and go! By adding a Blackmagic MultiDock 10G with 4 SSD slots to your setup with the HyperDeck Shuttle HD, you also make these recorders SSD compatible. External data media can be managed in the settings menu.
