The AW-UE40 has a newly developed and compact housing, weighs only 1.8 kg and thus, in addition to handling, also facilitates installation in various areas, especially for truss or ceiling mounting.

Single cable solution

The AW-UE40 supports PoE+, enabling power for the camera, control and also video transmission over a single cable.

Direct Drive System

For quiet and smooth camera movements in both vertical and horizontal directions, the AW-UE40 features a direct drive system based on Panasonic technology, reducing operating noise to NC25 or less. The direct drive also provides other benefits such as faster, precise movements and higher accuracy of preset positions, making the AW-UE40 Panasonic's fastest, quietest and most accurate PTZ camera to date.

Support for online video content

When using the "Virtual USB Driver for PTZ" software in combination with a LAN connection, the UE40's video and audio can be captured in the same way as from a USB camera. The AW-UE40 is also equipped with a privacy mode that aligns the lens to the rear in standby.

Improved 4K sensor

The AW-UE40 features a new 1/2.5-type 4K MOS sensor for stunning True 4K resolution 1,500 TV lines (UHD) video. HDMI and IP support, as well as the ability to output multiple video formats simultaneously, make the camera ideal for existing HD or 4K workflows.

Wide Angle Lens

The AW-UE40's new wide-angle lens captures wide areas with a 74.1-degree viewing angle, even when installation space is limited, and the 24x optical zoom ensures high image quality even at extended zoom ranges. This enables shooting in large indoor spaces. In addition, the intelligent zoom achieves 28x and 36x magnification in UHD and Full HD, respectively.

Optical zoom and image stabilization

The camera features optical image stabilization (OIS) for smooth pan-tilt movement in busy environments or when moving or placed on a robotic system.

New Processor

The AW-UE40 features a new high-performance chipset platform, allowing the PTZ camera to respond to higher video processing demands to enable higher quality with low latency.

Analog 4K and HD output

The AW-UE40 supports 4K video up to 25p/30p at 3840 x 2160 output for professional, high-quality moving image capture, as well as a variety of output options including HDMI and IP streaming. These can be operated simultaneously for HD and 4K productions.

New IP transmission formats NDI|HX and SRT.

The camera features a variety of IP transmission protocols. For example, the supported Secure Reliable Transport (SRT*1) protocol is ready to use out-of-the-box and ensures stable transmission of high-quality video even in unstable network environments. In addition, secure and reliable video transmission over public Internet is enabled - thanks to encryption, as well as automatic detection and resending of lost packets.

The AW-UE40 also supports NDI|HX*2 version 2 for high efficiency at low bandwidth, which is available via an optional paid upgrade. This enables low bit-rate video transmission over a single LAN cable.

RTMP/RTMPS*3 enables direct streaming from the camera to live streaming services such as YouTube Live and Facebook Live.

New web interface & simplified workflows

A brand-new web interface simplifies professional operation of the enhanced user interface (GUI) - even in darker environments.

Panasonic offers an entire ecosystem of solutions so that the new PTZ models can be seamlessly combined with existing camera systems. This includes use with remote camera controls, PTZ Control Center central control software, and automatic tracking software for presentations and lectures enabled by facial recognition and human body detection.
